The card to score miles
Standard Chartered Singapore launched the new Visa Infinite Credit Card to reward the affluent traveller’s lifestyle and create access to a whole new world of privileges
June 1, 2017: Travel is an integral part of the lifestyles of affluent customers. Typically aged 35 to 45, this jet setting group was found by the Visa Affluent Study 2015 to be amongst the most travelled consumers in the Singapore region, with an average of 3.1 trips reported in the past year. At Standard Chartered, we want to be a part of our clients’ wealth journey and help realise their aspirations as they go through different wealth cycles. As clients grow their wealth, they also demand more innovative financial products and services befitting their status and lifestyle.
With the goal of creating a highly customised card, Standard Chartered conducted targeted research among this group of consumers to find out more about their needs and wants. The research found that they place a premium on an accelerated miles earn rate, and are looking for innovative and delightful rewards, lifestyle perks and services.
|With this in mind, Standard Chartered launched the new Visa Infinite Credit Card to reward the affluent traveller’s lifestyle and create access to a whole new world of privileges. Andrew Chia, Head of Retail Banking, Standard Chartered Bank Singapore, said: “Our clients are getting increasingly affluent, and we are refreshing our client value proposition for this segment. To meet the needs of our affluent clients, we will be rolling out differentiated product and service solutions as we partner them through their wealth cycle. The new Standard Chartered Visa Infinite Credit Card leads the way as an example of how we are stepping up and enhancing our product suite to cater to the evolving lifestyle needs of the affluent.”|
Standard Chartered’s Visa Infinite is a best in class miles card in Singapore that rewards cardholders with an attractive miles earn rate of 1.4 miles for each dollar spent locally and 3 miles for each dollar spent overseas with a minimum spend of S$2,000 per monthly statement cycle. Upon sign up, cardholders will receive an unprecedented one-time bonus of 35,000 miles for the first year. Cardholders will also receive 6 complimentary visits to airport lounges via the Priority Pass programme and up to S$1 million travel insurance coverage when they charge their full travel fare to their card.
The new card also builds on new and exciting partnerships with partners such as Uber. We have brought Uber on board in its first rebates-based partnership with a bank in Singapore, to offer hassle-free worldwide transfers in over 395 cities regardless of geography or destination.
Andrew added, “We believe in leveraging the strengths of our strategic partnerships to deliver innovative and relevant products for our clients.”
Cardholders will get to enjoy 10% off their Uber rides charged to the card, capped at S$400 in a year.
The refreshed Visa Infinite Credit Card has greatly deepened Standard Chartered’s connection to existing affluent customers. In 2017, the Visa Infinite was awarded the Best Credit Card Offering award from International Finance Magazine.
